Janis is a local-first application. When you use the app to capture and translate conversations, audio processing and storage occur primarily on your device. We request Microphone permissions exclusively for real-time translation and Nearby Devices/Location permissions for local pairing features.
The audio data captured by the microphone is processed immediately for transcription and translation purposes. We do not sell, rent, or secretly share your personal conversations or account data with third parties.
Your captured translations are securely stored locally on your device. If you use cloud sync features, data is transmitted securely to Google Firebase infrastructure.
